2:00 - 3:00 - Diana Beresford-Kroeger
Diana Beresford-Kroeger is a botanist, medical and agricultural researcher, lecturer, and self-defined “renegade scientist” in the fields of classical botany, medical biochemistry, organic chemistry and nuclear chemistry. She lives in Merrickville, Ontario. Deresford-Kroeger is a native of Ireland who has a bachelor’s degree in medical biochemistry and botany, and has worked as a PhD-level researcher at the University of Ottawa, School of Medicine, where she published several papers on the chemistry of artificial blood. She calls herself a renegade scientist, however, because she tried to bring together aboriginal healing, Western medicine, and botany to advocate an unusual role for trees.

Bhuvaneswari Devi is a spiritual teacher with an eclectic background in latin-shamanism, gestalt, yoga and meditation. She is an active visionary in the field of self-transformation around the globe, where all age audiences received training and counseling. She is the founder of the Bioenergetics Institute, Club Yoga for children and Bhuvaneswari Teachings. Bhuvaneswari will present an active meditation on the inner spirit of Sweet Basil, one of the most sacred herbs in India. Her approach to presenting knowledge is uplifting and refreshing and will leave the audience with a practical perspective.
11 AM - Beverly Chen - "The Labyrinth Journey" Talk and walk"

Beverly began to work with the labyrinth in 1999. Wanting to support others in using the labyrinth, she took facilitator training in 2002. Her labyrinth work reaches out to many groups and communities from her base at the Galilee Retreat Centre in Arnprior, Ontario. She offers presentations, walks, and workshops and integrates the labyrinth into retreats, conferences, and special events.
The labyrinth is an ancient spiral circle pattern, a sacred symbol, that can be found around the world. Come to hear some highlights of the Labyrinth's long and rich history that is filled with fascinating patterns and people, cultures and traditions. In our times, the labyrinth has emerged as a powerful walking meditation tool for personal and professional transformation and community building. 12 Noon - Loreen Osborne - "Vegetarian for a Day"
Come and learn how cookbook author Laureen Osborne became a vegetarian and how you can too – whether you are looking for a way to improve your health or just want to eat more nutritious foods, the vegetarian diet may be the alternative you’ve been looking for. Laureen will discuss the basics of a healthy vegetarian diet and ways to modify your existing diet to include more vegetarian options. She will introduce you to her book “Vegetarian for a Day” and talk about a few of the recipes in the book. Most of the easy to follow recipes can be prepared in about half an hour.

During this tasting session, Vanessa will show you the ’whey' asyou nibble while introducing you to the fun-damentals of cheese appreciation including: cheese 101, different categories of cheese, cheese-y lingo, and cheese TLC - buying and caring for your artisan cheese.

Her practice (Avalon Herbal Clinic) has been located in the Ottawa valley for the past 3 years. A graduate of the Living Earth School of Herbalism she is a Registered Herbalist with the Ontario Herbalist Association.
