Chef Cook-Off

The participants battling for culinary supremacy in 2010 at Herbfest include well-known chefs from the east, the west and from downtown Ottawa. It is sure to be an event not to be missed.

This year's three chefs are:

Chef Jason Duffy of ARC Lounge (Ottawa)

ARC Lounge is a hidden downtown dining gem that locals have come to revel. Eclectically local and seasonally-inspired, Jason sources locally grown produce and meats bringing together all the elements for the ultimate culinary experience. Jason studied French Cuisine at Institut de Tourisme et D’Hôtellerie du Québec. He joined the culinary team at ARC THE.HOTEL in 2005 and rose to the position of Executive Chef in 2006. www.arcthehotel.com

Chef Marc Miron of Cuisine & Passion (Orléans)

Cuisine & Passion also offers a cooking school, a retail division, upscale meals to go and a personal line of product. Marc has been the personal chef to the Rolling Stones in three different countries. He has prepared meals for royalty, a number of leaders of the free world and a room full of discerning international food critics. When celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay needed to cater his book-launch event in Sydney, Australia, he called on Chef Marc Miron. www.cuisinepassion.ca

Chef Eric Matolsci of The Cheshire Cat Pub (Carp)

The Cheshire Cat offers traditional British pub fare that includes bangers and mash, steak and mushroom pie and arguably the best fish and chips in Ottawa. Born and raised in Carp, Eric has been in the industry for 15 years. While their menu is mostly traditional British-style pub fare, Chef Matolsci incorporates finer style foods into the many special events run at the pub and takes pride in sourcing out local foods from the West Carleton area. www.cheshirecatpub.com
